CAMPUS SUMMARY
Founded in 1895, Watts School of Nursing is distinguished as the oldest nursing program in North Carolina. A two-year hospital-based diploma program, Watts concentrates solely on nursing education for entry into professional nursing practice. The curriculum complements academic learning with an array of clinical experiences reflecting the latest patterns of health care delivery. Graduates are prepared to take advantage of employment opportunities within and beyond the traditional hospital setting. Located in Durham, North Carolina which is known as the "City of Medicine," Watts is housed on the campus of Durham Regional Hospital as part of the Duke University Health System. Set in the Piedmont, Durham is rich in cultural, recreational, and entertainment opportunities and only a short drive from either the Blue Ridge Mountains or North Carolina's famous beaches.
